Patent-pending technology that converts post-consumer glass into a low-carbon cement material recognized among Canada's top sustainability projects. KAMLOOPS, BC, Oct. 16, 2026 /CNW/ -- Progressive Planet (TSXV: PLAN) (OTCQB: ASHXF) ("Progressive Planet", "PLAN", or the "Company") is pleased to announce that PozGlass, its patent-pending technology for converting post-consumer waste glass into a low-carbon cement material, has been named a 2027 Clean50 Top Project by Canada's Clean50. Clean50 Top Projects are recognized annually for their measurable impact, innovation, and ability to inspire other Canadians.
Cement production accounts for almost 8 percent of the world's carbon emissions. PozGlass tackles this by grinding post-consumer glass, including mixed colours once considered unusable, into a supplementary cementitious material that can be used to replace up to 50% of the Portland cement used in a batch of concrete. Backed by nearly $6 million in public funding and validated by a leading player in the cement industry, the pilot plant in Kamloops is nearing completion. At full commercial deployment, the process has the potential to eliminate millions of tonnes of CO2 a year, turning a recycling headache into concrete's best supporting ingredient. "Being named a Clean50 Top Project is a real validation of years of work by our technical team to build something that can genuinely scale and make a dent in one of the most emissions-intensive industries in the world," said Steve Harpur, CEO of Progressive Planet. "Delta's criteria in determining Project awards is to carefully consider a combination of actual measurable impact, demonstrated innovation, and the project's ability to inspire others to imitate it – and PozGlass: Turning Recycled Glass into Low Carbon Cement completed by Progressive Planet is a terrific example," stated Gavin Pitchford, CEO, Delta Management Group, Executive Director of Canada's Clean50 Awards. Progressive Planet continues to advance commissioning of its Kamloops pilot plant as it works toward pilot plant-scale production of PozGlass. Commissioning is anticipated to be completed before the end of December 2026. The Company thanks Canada's Clean50 for the recognition and congratulates its fellow 2027 Top Project recipients.
