IG Wealth Management and RRC Polytech Announce Second Cohort of IG Empower Your Tomorrow Indigenous Scholarship Recipients

WINNIPEG, MB, Oct. 20, 2026 /CNW/ -- IG Wealth Management (IG) and Red River College Polytechnic (RRC Polytech) today announced the 10 recipients of the 2026 IG Empower Your Tomorrow Indigenous Scholarship ("IG Scholarship").

This year marks the second cohort of IG Scholarship winners. In addition to $12,000 in financial support to help fund their studies, recipients will complete a paid work-integrated internship at IG's Winnipeg headquarters. They will also have access to year-round supports, including childcare navigation services, wellness and mental health resources and professional development opportunities. The inaugural recipients were announced in May 2025 and have since completed their work-integrated internship at IG's headquarters.

The IG Scholarship is one component of the broader IG Empower Your Tomorrow program at RRC Polytech, initially announced in January 2024. The program supports up to 300 Indigenous students each year within the School of Business, Information Technology and Creative Arts and the School of Hospitality and Culinary Arts with comprehensive academic, personal and career supports. Additionally, a dedicated IG Empower Coach helps students navigate their studies, access wellness resources and explore career development and mentorship opportunities.

The scholarship recipients will work in various departments across IG next summer, gaining valuable professional experience through hands-on corporate engagement. The program also creates opportunities for students and IG employees to build meaningful connections that can support future career pathways.
