Attorney General Bonta Issues Statement on Governor Newsom’s Executive Order Banning Evictions Based on Hosting Survivors
OAKLAND — California Attorney General Rob Bonta today issued the following statement on Governor Gavin Newsom’s executive order that bans evictions based on hosting survivors:
“These are extraordinary times. If you provide shelter to someone who has been impacted by the Los Angeles wildfires, you should not be evicted. Allowing that to happen would be flat-out wrong. I share the Governor’s commitment to protecting our neighbors through this crisis.”
