WASHINGTON —U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s Enforcement and Removal Operations and U.K. Immigration Enforcement leadership held a bilateral meeting in Washington D.C. on Oct. 21.
Partners discussed solutions for addressing shared immigration enforcement related issues, such as country specific returns cooperation, and identifying common countries where returns cooperation is lacking. They also discussed immigration enforcement priorities and polices regarding Alternatives to Detention, custody management, enforcement, and an overview of charter flight operations.
Partnerships optimize immigration enforcement and removal processes, deter irregular migration, and maximize foreign fugitive returns and prosecutions. ERO officials routinely meet with international partners and other stakeholders to ensure the agency’s policies and practices are data-driven, fact-based, and humane.
