ICE New England arrests registered sex offender from Portugal convicted of heinous crimes against children

BOSTON — ICE Homeland Security Investigations New England has administratively arrested a lawful permanent resident and registered sex offender who was previously convicted of abuse and rape of a child, among other crimes against minors.
HSI personnel arrested Dennis Costa, 66, on July 29 at his residence in Fall River.
Costa, a native and citizen of Portugal, was convicted on Nov. 25, 1991, for rape and abuse of a child and indecent assault and battery on a child under 14 years of age. He was sentenced to 10 years in prison and required to register as a sex offender in the commonwealth of Massachusetts.
Costa entered the United States as a lawful permanent resident on or around Jan. 26, 1969.
He will be held in ICE custody pending a hearing before an immigration judge.
