FBI Phoenix Releases ‘Summer Heat’ Results
PHOENIX, AZ / October 9, 2025 —The FBI Phoenix Field Office announced today that it and law enforcement partners made hundreds of arrests over the past several months as part of “Summer Heat”, a national FBI violent crime effort.
Between June and the end of September, all FBI field offices participated in Operation Summer Heat. The FBI surged resources alongside federal, state, tribal, and local partners, executing warrants on violent criminals and fugitives, dismantling violent gangs, as well as identifying and rescuing child victims.
The Phoenix Field Office announced it arrested 411 subjects across the state under the Summer Heat initiative, including fugitives, gang members, subjects arrested for Indian Country crimes and other violent criminals. Phoenix also arrested 15 individuals for violent crimes against children and identified and/or located 103 child victims during Summer Heat Operations. Additionally, this operation resulted in the recovery of 59 weapons and 63 drug seizures.
“Crushing violent crime remains a top priority for FBI Phoenix and is a responsibility we all share,” said FBI Phoenix Special Agent in Charge Heith Janke. “The FBI will continue to work with our partners and deploy all resources necessary to strengthen the safety in our neighborhoods and reduce violent crime.”
Nationally, Summer Heat led to 8,629 arrests, with more than 6,500 falling under the FBI’s Violent Crime and Gang Program. in Addition, agents and intelligence professionals investigating violent crimes against children identified or located 1,053 victim children. Summer Heat Operations also led to the seizure of 44,569 kilograms of cocaine, 421 kilograms of fentanyl, and 2,281 weapons.
