U.S. Marshals Capture Fugitive Wanted for Shooting One Adult Male and Attempting to Shoot a Law Enforcement Officer
Louisville, MS / March 17, 2026 – Bobby White Jr., 45, was arrested in Ackerman, Mississippi on March 17, 2026, after a fugitive investigation conducted by the U.S. Marshals Service. White Jr. was wanted by the Winston County Sheriff’s Department for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and attempted aggravated assault on a law enforcement officer.
On March 12, 2026, an adult male victim, believed to be a family member of White Jr. was shot after an altercation occurred between the two on Miller Avenue in Louisville, Mississippi. Emergency dispatchers received a call about the incident and as a Winston County Sheriff’s Deputy responded to scene, he was fired upon by the suspect.
Fortunately, the deputy was not hit by gunfire. The suspect then vanished into the woods and was not located by law enforcement. On March 13, 2026, a warrant was issued for the arrest of Bobby White Jr. in connection with the shootings.
On March 17, 2026, Deputy United States Marshals of the Gulf Coast Regional Fugitive Task Force (GCRFTF) tracked White Jr. to a house in the 1300 block of Concord-Bethsalem Road in Ackerman, Mississippi. With the assistance of the Winston County and Choctaw County Sheriff’s Department, U.S. Marshals surrounded the residence, and White Jr. was taken into custody without incident.
Since 2006, the Gulf Coast Regional Fugitive Task Force has focused resources and efforts on the enhancement of public safety and the reduction of violence within the Gulf Coast Region, through the identification, investigation, and apprehension of fugitives wanted for egregious crimes against the community, while ensuring the equal application of Justice, Integrity, and Service for all.
