FBI Increases Reward to $5,000 for Information Leading to Identification of Subject(s) in Topeka Robbery
TOPEKA, Kansas / September 15, 2026 — The FBI is announcing an increase in the reward being offered to $5,000 for information leading to the identification, arrest, and conviction of the individual or individuals responsible for the robbery of a Kentucky Fried Chicken (KFC) in Topeka. This case is being worked by the Topeka Police Department and the FBI.
On August 19, 2025, at approximately 9:19 p.m., the KFC at 3920 Southwest 21st Street in Topeka, Kansas, was robbed at gunpoint. The investigation indicates that an unknown subject entered the business on foot, armed with a handgun and demanded money from the employees. The subject fled the scene on foot and to the north.
The subject is described as a medium-complected, adult male that is approximately 6 feet to 6 feet and 2 inches tall, with bright blue/green eyes and weighing approximately 150 pounds. During the robbery, the subject was described as wearing khakis, black dress shoes, light grey gloves, a grey hoodie, a ball cap, and a full ski-mask. He was carrying a black/chrome handgun.
