ICE Nashville arrests criminal illegal alien from Guatemala convicted of child rape
NASHVILLE, Tenn. / September 25, 2026 — ICE New Orleans arrested Alberto Ramirez-Diaz, a 39-year-old criminal illegal alien from Guatemala, Sept. 1, after he was released from the Tennessee Department of Corrections following a conviction for second-degree child rape.
Ramirez-Diaz was removed from the United States Sept. 7 and returned to his home country. “ICE’s mission is to protect the American public, and that includes taking appropriate enforcement action against illegal aliens charged with serious crimes,” said ERO New Orleans acting Field Office Director Scott Ladwig. “We will continue to work with our law enforcement partners to ensure individuals who pose a public safety threat are held accountable under both criminal and immigration law.”
Ramirez-Diaz was first apprehended by U.S. Border Patrol on Aug. 1, 2013, processed for expedited removal, and removed to Guatemala on Aug. 7, 2013. He unlawfully reentered the United States and was apprehended again on March 3, 2018. He was issued a notice to appear and released on an order of recognizance.
Ramirez-Diaz was also enrolled in ICE’s Alternatives to Detention program with GPS monitoring. He failed to report as required and allegedly cut off and discarded his GPS ankle monitor. On Nov. 12, 2019, he was returned to ICE custody following his arrest by the Homestead Police Department in Florida in connection with allegations involving the sexual assault of a minor family member.
Under President Trump, Secretary Mullin and acting ICE Director David J. Venturella, ICE is targeting the worst of the worst. Our message is clear: If you come into our country illegally and break our laws, we will find you, we will arrest you, and we will deport you.
