Loxley Man Sentenced For Making Interstate Threats
MOBILE, AL / Tuesday, October 6, 2026 – Robert Davian Grijalva of Loxley, Alabama, who has been in custody since 2025, was sentenced today by Chief United States District Court Judge Jeffrey U. Beaverstock to time served for making an interstate threat.
According to court documents, Grijalva, 19, conveyed a threat by Instagram message to a victim stating that he would “blow yo head off.” The message also contained an emoji of a devil and a drop of blood.
“Threats to kill or commit violence, including threats made over the internet, are unacceptable and will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law,” said U.S. Attorney Sean P. Costello.
“Threats of violence, whether online or otherwise, create real fear in our communities. Robert Grijalva’s conviction underscores the seriousness of these actions and the FBI’s ongoing work to safeguard those who are targeted,” said Christopher R. Flowers, Special Agent in Charge of the FBI Mobile Division. “We will continue to investigate threats wherever they originate and ensure those responsible are held accountable.”
In addition to the sentence, the Court imposed certain conditions on Grijalva including mental health evaluation and treatment, drug and alcohol monitoring, and no contact with the victim.
The Federal Bureau of Investigation investigated the case, and Assistant U.S. Attorney Gaillard Ladd prosecuted the case on behalf of the United States.
