ICE arrests illegal alien who claimed to work for Washington state
The alien was wearing a Washington State Department of Children, Youth and Families uniform and claimed to have previously worked in corrections when he was arrested
SEATTLE /November 5, 2026 — ICE Seattle arrested an illegal alien from Kenya claiming to work for the Washington State Department of Children, Youth and Families during a targeted enforcement operation Oct. 26. Stanley Robert Kengu Muthee, first entered the U.S. on Feb. 6, 2019, and was required to depart no later than Aug. 5 that year. Instead, he remained in the country unlawfully, applying for and receiving work authorization three times under the Biden administration.
“Illegal aliens should not be working for state governments — Americans should expect better from the offices meant to serve them — but nonetheless, a job with the state of Washington doesn’t come with a free pass to ignore federal immigration law,” said ICE Assistant Director of Public Affairs Micah Bock.
When ICE officials questioned Muthee, the Nairobi native also claimed to have worked previously in Washington state corrections. Officers served him with a warrant of arrest and he will remain in ICE custody pending removal proceedings.
Under President Trump, Secretary Mullin and acting ICE Director David J. Venturella’s leadership, ICE is once again focused on enforcing the law, protecting the public and removing dangerous individuals from our communities.
