Catalina Resources Ltd (CTN.ASX) Kirkalocka Soil Program Complete, Heritage Survey Next
Catalina Resources Limited (ASX:CTN) is pleased to advise that it has completed a soil geochemistry program comprising approximately 1,500 samples across its Kirkalocka Gold Project and that the Aboriginal heritage survey required for its planned maiden drilling program has now been scheduled to commence in early September 2026.
The completed soil program and scheduled heritage survey represent two important milestones in Catalina's systematic advancement of the Kirkalocka Gold Project. Together, these activities have significantly enhanced the Company's understanding of the project while progressing the final key workstreams ahead of the planned ~3,000m reverse circulation (RC) drilling program.
This progress builds on the Company's recent identification of an emerging gold-tungsten opportunity at Tallering and reflects Catalina's disciplined approach to advancing multiple high-priority opportunities across its Mid-West exploration portfolio.
Highlights
- Approximately 1,500 soil samples collected across the Highway, Capra, Avis and Two Mile Bore prospects at the Kirkalocka Gold Project.
- Limited historical exploration has identified multiple high-priority gold targets, including Highway (6m @ 1.79g/t Au from 42m and 6m @ 1.38g/t Au from 27m) and Avis, where historic rock-chip sampling returned grades of up to 9.89g/t Au (sample 17959), highlighting the Project's potential.
- Heritage survey scheduled to commence in early September 2026, representing the final major milestone ahead of the Company's maiden drilling program.
- Soil assay results will be integrated with geological, geophysical and historical drilling datasets to refine and prioritise drill targets.
- Completion of the soil program and scheduled heritage survey continue Catalina's systematic advancement of the emerging Kirkalocka Gold District.
Executive Director, Ross Cotton, commented:
"The completion of this regional soil program and the scheduling of the heritage survey represent two important milestones as we continue advancing Kirkalocka towards drilling.
The soil program has significantly expanded our geochemical coverage across several priority prospects and, once assay results are received, will help refine and prioritise drill targets.
Catalina's Mid-West portfolio combines district-scale gold growth around the Kirkalocka processing hub with the emerging high-grade tungsten opportunity at Tallering. Progressing these projects in parallel reflects our disciplined approach to building value through systematic exploration."
Kirkalocka Project Background
The Kirkalocka Gold Project is located within the southern Wydgee-Meekatharra Greenstone Belt and includes tenure immediately adjacent to the Kirkalocka Gold Mine, which hosts a published Mineral Resource of approximately 240,000 ounces of gold. The Project is also located adjacent (Figure 1*) to the 2.0Mtpa Kirkalocka Gold Processing Plant, which is being advanced towards recommencement by Gylden Resources Limited.
Soil Geochemistry Program Completed
Catalina has completed soil geochemistry program comprising approximately 1,500 soil samples across the Highway, Capra, Avis and Two Mile Bore prospects (Figures 2 - 5) within the Kirkalocka Gold Project.
The program represents the first systematic geochemical coverage across these priority target areas since the Company's acquisition of the project and forms an important component of Catalina's exploration strategy to identify additional gold mineralisation surrounding the historical Kirkalocka Gold Mine and processing facility.
Samples have been submitted for laboratory analysis, with assay results to be integrated alongside historical drilling, detailed geological mapping, aeromagnetic interpretation and structural modelling.
The combined dataset will be used to refine geological interpretations, prioritise exploration targets and optimise the Company's planned maiden drilling program.
The regional program builds on Catalina's ongoing technical review of the Kirkalocka district, where multiple prospects have demonstrated encouraging historical gold mineralisation and remain largely untested by modern, systematic exploration.
Heritage Survey Scheduled
Catalina is also pleased to advise that the Heritage survey required to support the planned drilling program has now been scheduled to commence during the week beginning 7 September 2026.
The survey will be undertaken in consultation with the Badimia Traditional Owners and will assess the proposed drilling areas across the Company's priority exploration targets.
Completion of the survey will represent the final key heritage milestone ahead of the commencement of drilling at Kirkalocka, subject to receipt and interpretation of soil geochemistry results and final drill planning.
Next Steps
Following completion of the Heritage survey and receipt of soil geochemistry assay results, Catalina expects to finalise drill targeting and commence its planned ~3,000m reverse circulation (RC) drilling program at Kirkalocka. The program has been designed to test multiple priority targets identified through the Company's integrated geological review, with drilling to evaluate both extensions to known mineralisation and new exploration targets across the broader Kirkalocka Gold Project.
